evidence of growth & Mastery (Interpretive Listening)
On March 17th, I had students complete the
interpretive listening task. Each student received a sheet of paper containing stick figures as well as a set of crayons or markers. Since I was having voice issues, I decided to record my descriptions using SoundCloud. This allowed me to save my voice and repeat the descriptions easily. My grading scale for this formative task was as follows:

I was pleasantly surprised that ALL of the students except for one earned "Proficient" on this formative assessment. I wonder if playing the audio tracks numerous times contributed to this level of success. Of the students who made mistakes, I noticed confusion (or forgetting) of the following:
Based on the results from the two interpretive formative assessments, I feel that this group of students has had sufficient comprehensible input to be successful on a Type 3 presentational writing summative assessment.
