A LOT. I kept thinking of a way to make their favorite game more active.
- Have your kit in Gimkit ready to play.
- Choose Classic mode and "All In." I set the class's goal for $50,000. In hindsight, I would set the goal a bit lower - maybe at $20,000.
- You'll want to mute the Gimkit music. There's an icon in the upper right hand side of the play screen.
- Have other music ready to play. I have a YouTube playlist that I use in class. I decided to mute and unmute it during the game.
- Half of the class stood in an inner circle.
- All of the students' iPads went on the floor in the middle circle.
- The other half of the class stood in the outside circle.
- Start the music. Students walk around in a circle. Pick a leader for each circle to decide which direction they'll walk.
- Stop the music. Students quickly find an iPad and answer as many questions as they can before I continue playing the music. They MAY purchase power-ups.
- Start the music again and continue the process.
- If your goal is to introduce new content, or if the class has a tendency to get off-task when kids are inactive, continue playing without eliminating anyone.
- If your group can handle it, or they're particularly competitive, take away an iPad at a time just like you would in Musical Chairs. This allows you to eliminate players and eventually have a "winner".
